Echoes of Devotion: Beethoven Mass in C and Coleridge Requiem

Our summer concert will be at a new venue for the choir – St John’s Church in Brooklands. You can find it here on Google Maps.

We will be singing Beethoven’s Mass in C and Matthew Coleridge’s Requiem accompanied by Ben Collyer on the organ. Joseph Myer Dawson on Cello and Ed Cervenka on Percussion will join us for the Coleridge.

We are proud to present an evening of fantastic music bringing together the voices of Altrincham Choral Society with a selection of talented players from the Carlton Main Frickley Colliery Band alongside expert Organist and long-term ACS collaborator Jonathan Scott.

Open Rehearsal

Monday 7 September 2026

7.30pm, Altrincham Methodist Church

Everyone is welcome to come and join us at our next open rehearsal on Monday 7th September 2026, 7.30pm This is a great opportunity to experience the fun of singing with a large choral society

We will be starting rehearsals for our next concert on the 14th November, which we will be performing at the RNCM accompanied by members of the Carlton Main Fricklery Colliery Band and Jonathan Scott on Organ.

We will be rehearsing the following works:-
- Mass – Jongen
- Chichester Psalms – Bernstein
- Make a Joyful Noise – Gregson
Come and Sing!

Saturday 10 October 2026

Our next singing day is on Saturday 10th October 2026 at Altrincham United Reformed Church (10.30am – 5.00pm). We will be singing a selection of choruses from Mendelssohn’s iconic work Elijah, led by musical director Steven Roberts and ending with a performance to complete the day. The choruses include the beautiful and melodic ‘Lift thine eyes’ and ‘He watching over Israel’ along with the more rousing ‘Thanks be to God’ amongst many more. If you have never sung Elijah this is a great opportunity to learn the choral parts or, if you are already familiar with it, to just enjoy revisiting this wonderful work.

Cost is £24 (£7 for students) including music hire
